Volunteer Opportunities

The Dearborn Historical Museum is always looking for people interested in helping preserve our city’s history. If you have some free time, please consider becoming a volunteer!

Below are some volunteer positions the museum is currently trying to fill:

Pioneer School Program

The Dearborn Historical Museum is looking for volunteers to help with our annual Pioneer Program! Each spring the museum welcomes nearly 1,500 second grade students from Dearborn Public Schools, and other local schools, to participate in this field-trip opportunity. The Pioneer Program helps to show students what life was like in Dearborn for settlers during the 1830s. This rewarding program allows for multiple volunteer opportunities based on individual interest, including historical presenting, program curriculum planning, costume making, event planning, and more! It provides a wonderful chance to connect with local youth while sharing Dearborn’s history with the next generation. We are looking for volunteers from all backgrounds to help make this program successful!
